Ask Your Lawyer About Trial Experience

The practice of law is a demanding profession if you do it right. At the law offices of Barry L. Bruce & Associates in Lewisburg, West Virginia, we do it right. While our attorneys handle straightforward issues such as real estate transactions, we are best known for serious litigation, including personal injury and divorce. We try cases at all levels of our civil justice system, including West Virginia state courts, federal court or even the U.S. Supreme Court.

We Are Lewisburg Trial Lawyers

Not all lawyers try cases. In fact, most lawyers will do almost anything to avoid going to trial, and that includes accepting a settlement that may not be in their clients' best interests. This is especially true in the areas of personal injury.

Our lawyers prepare every personal injury case we take on for possible trial, whether it is a car accident injury claim, an airbag injury case, a truck accident, a workplace injury, or a slip-and-fall accident. Insurance companies know which lawyers prepare their cases for trial and which will just settle it. That is where rubber meets the road.

Not every case needs to go to trial. However, insurance companies will not pay significant damage claims unless they face the threat of a jury trial against a lawyer who is prepared to go the distance. It is the prospect of a jury trial that brings the other side to the negotiating table.

Because our lawyers are well known in the Lewisburg area for trying cases, we are often able to obtain favorable resolutions for our clients short of a trial.

Barry L. Bruce and Associates, L.C.
Wins Two Supreme Court Decisions

On November 19, 2010, the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia released its decisions on two cases appealed from the Circuit Court of Greenbrier County, West Virginia.

In the case of Warren K. Hollinghead v. James W. Childers, Sheriff of Greenbrier County, Supreme Court Case No. 35530, the Supreme Court reversed and remanded the decision of the Circuit Court to reinstate the concealed weapons permit to Warren K. Hollinghead.

In the case Robert L. Sams v. City of White Sulphur Springs, Board of Zoning Appeals, Supreme Court Case No. 35531, the Supreme Court affirmed the decision of the Circuit Court of Greenbrier County regarding Mr. Sams' business being grandfathered under the zoning laws for the City of White Sulphur Springs.

Barry L. Bruce feels that the judicial system worked, that justice has been served in both cases, and the Supreme court of Appeals of West Virginia rendered excellent opinions in both cases.
